L.S. Navarre Branch Reopening
Same Location, Newly Renovated Space
The Monroe County Library System is delighted to announce the reopening of the newly renovated L.S. Navarre Branch at its former location.
Through vision and dedication, the City of Monroe’s efforts to create a community campus has brought the Opportunity Center, the L.S. Navarre Branch Library, and the Learning Bank together under one roof. The new building includes a community living room, youth activity areas, media and creative spaces, community incubation areas, a reading terrace, and gathering spaces for programs and services.
Reopening the L.S. Navarre Branch Library
The L.S. Navarre Branch Library moved to a temporary location at 1104 E. Fourth Street while the expansion project was underway. It reopened its doors as part of the new community campus in a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony held on June 1, 2026.
Normal library operations are set to resume on June 2, 2026.
L.S. Navarre Branch Library is proud to be a part of the new campus, located at 120 Eastchester Street, Monroe, MI 48161.
More About the Renovation Project
The initiative is made possible through a generous $7.8 million dollar grant from the State of Michigan. “We are incredibly grateful to the City of Monroe for their support, through this grant, which allows us to make significant improvements to our facilities,” said Library Director, Nancy Bellaire. “These renovations will help us create a modern and welcoming space that meets the evolving needs of our patrons.”
