Mission Statement

The Monroe County Library System was first established in 1934. While the method of service delivery has undergone tremendous change, our goal to serve Monroe County has remained the same:

The Monroe County Library System enriches the quality of life for all residents of the county by providing free access to informational, educational and recreational resources.

All branches of the Monroe County Library System are open for one hour appointments or walk-in visits. We ask that patrons continue to wear face coverings in our buildings at this time.
Please click here for more information about our current safety protocols and planning your visit to the library.

To inquire about Senior Delivery services, please call 734-241-5770 and ask for Library in Motion.

Maintenance to our cataloging system will take place on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Certain services, including the online catalog and our downloadable collections, will be unavailable during that time.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience during the down time.
