The Monroe County Library System is issuing this update in an attempt to provide the community with our most current plan of service during these unprecedented times.

The health and safety of our patrons and staff is a top priority of the Monroe County Library System, especially in relation to the nation’s newly declared state of emergency regarding the COVID-19 virus.  In compliance with recommendations from government and health officials, all library branches will be closing on Monday, March 16, 2020 until further notice.

Social distancing is considered the best course of action to reduce the spread of the virus. Patrons will still have full access to all of the Library’s electronic and downloadable resources 24/7 at https://monroe.lib.mi.us.

Patrons may follow the Library on Facebook and Twitter, or check https://monroe.lib.mi.us for the latest updates. Patrons with specific questions can email questions@monroe.lib.mi.us and answers will be provided as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued patience during this rapidly evolving situation.  The Monroe County Library System’s leadership team will continue to closely monitor COVID-19 developments and respond accordingly. The Library will continue to be in communication with patrons and the community as events progress.
