Ellis Temporarily Closed Due to COVID-19

The Ellis Library & Reference Center closed Thursday, April 15, 2021, after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. All other branches of the Monroe County Library System remain open to serve patrons at this time.

The safety of patrons and staff is the Library’s top priority. “We have a comprehensive COVID Response Plan in place and we are implementing it now,” said Library Director Nancy Bellaire.

The Monroe County Library System is working closely with the Health Department and will ensure all safety protocols have been conducted before reopening. The 14-day quarantine will end April 28, 2021. The Ellis Library & Reference Center is expected to reopen at that time.

Patrons with items on hold at the Ellis Library & Reference Center can pick them up once the branch reopens. Requested materials may also be re-routed to another branch for pick-up.
